BOARDS
Pick Boards for your Featured Boards.
These will be front and center on your account! At the top, your boards should be featured (if you have some selected). Under them, you should be able to click Edit! Choose up to 5 boards. These should be boards with your items pinned to them!
Make New Boards!
Make (at least) 5 new boards! If you need help coming up with boards, there’s a post in the Facebook group to help get input!
If you don’t have a brand/business board, make one!
Update Board Names
Remember to use names that have KEY WORDS.
Add/Update Board Descriptions.
Use words that are being searched and are an accurate description of what can be found on the board.
5. OPTIONAL (but recommended) Add Sections
Sort your Pins into these sections. This is a good way to come up with new boards. Yes, it’s ok to have a section in a board and then a separate board with the same name. For example I might have “Glitter Invitations” as a section in my “CZ Invitation Board.” I also have a “Glitter Invitation” Board.
Click the toggle, then “Select Pins to Move or Delete”
You can move them into sections once you make a section!
PINNING
Keyword Research
Find out what people are searching for, by searching! Search on Pinterest, google, Etsy, etc. and see what the suggested searches are.
Optional: Start a list! Make a list of the words that come up often so you can refer to them. Bonus points if you have them organized in sections or categories! Jk i’m not giving out points.
Based on your content, decide how much you want to pin. 50% yours, 50% other people, for example. There really is no key here. Just pick something that feels good to you.
Start writing some descriptions
If you hate writing descriptions, do a little at a time! Think about what you might start pinning in the coming weeks, and use the formula to write descriptions
Remember, sentence structure isn’t super important. If you’re an amazing writer and really want that, totally fine. But my descriptions are a mess, and it’s fine ;)
Use Keywords!!!
PINTEREST FORMULA
Gather Data and Evaluate
If you’re already using Pinterest, look at your analytics, website, etsy, etc. and see what IS and IS NOT currently working.
Make note of the things that sell well & and not at all.
Things that sell well, might also sell well and do well on Pinterest!
Things that don’t sell right now, have the biggest room for growth.
If you’re already using Pinterest, are there gaps in your Pinterest Formula that you can identify and begin to shift?
OTHER
Pre-work
If you have not completed the prework, go back and that too!
Look over the first couple of chapters and see if there is anything else you’re not doing.
Look over the chapters on Pinning and creating content. Next week we will dive deep into Making Pins and all the details of that!
